Been working on this on and off for the past week or so... Huge Hyperspace map of Everything - stars, constellations, spheres of influence, QuasiSpace portals, Rainbow Worlds, homeworlds, and all the places you'd need to visit.
Of course, all of this info has been available in other maps since forever - but I wanted to combine all of it in a single, high-resolution, good-looking map (something in the same visual style as the printed map that came with the original SC2). Part of the idea is that - if you have the means to do so - you could print it (at 150-200 DPI), and get quite a nice-looking poster.
Click here to get the full map (3200x4258 .png, 2.4mb)

Great map. Delete some of the information stuff, and you'll have yourself a map to give to the developers to freely distribute with UQM... Hmm.. wait.. not that anyone would use it, I guess... Ohwell.. Great map, still! The best map, if you don't mind spoilers!

Thanks for the comments.
Megagun: Actually, this is not a bad idea - I can simply delete the info layers, remove the SC2 logo, and use the spheres of influence from the original map that came in the SC2 box... then UQM could have it included with the game distribution. UQM team - if you're interested, drop me a PM!
As for this "spoiler" version of the map, I was going to try including mineral & bio info for each system, too... any ideas on how to do that? I thought about having two little bars or pie-chart icons next to each system, but they'd have to be really small (even on a 150 DPI printout) or it'd clutter up the map beyond comprehension....

Very nice looking!
It seems the orange supergiant (in hte table) has lost a bit of the edge due to movement.

Yes... Good work. I downloaded it and printed it out on a single peice of photo paper. I can still make out the small print pretty well. I probably need to replace my black ink cartridge now.
