'Star Wreck : In The Pirkinning, the first Finnish full-length scifi parody is made from astounding special effects, action and loads of dark humour. It is the product of a core group of five Finns and many people who've helped us during the seven years it has been in the making.'
Head to movie's homepage to grap your piece of this amazing fanmade Star Trek & Babylon 5 parody via bittorrent or direct download (HQ version 554Mb XviD or LQ version 355Mb WMV9).
Watch it and if you like it and if at all possible, order the DVD to support the authors (from the movie's homepage). I preordered and got mine a month ago. Also spread the word to as many as you can (the movie is free to download after all!) to help it spread as large audience as possible. Thanks in advance and happy watching!
I've seen the older Starwrecks. These people have sure come a long way. I haven't seen in the Pirkinning yet, but I've seen the others and I really enjoyed them. Can't wait for a chance to see it!

,,That was the worst and most boring movie I’ve ever seen. Lousy special effects.” Sergeant ironhead. The real reason why the alien brain on Cydonia was destroyed while in the middle of displaying a message telling the X-com operatives not to fire.
Ahh, I had a feeling there'd be a post about it here. I saw it some days ago and the space battles are awesome to watch. I wish there were movies with battles like that.
Amazing to see how good fan-made movied can get. My kudos too to the subtitler - it's rare to have cohesive subtitiles which capture the slang and mood of what it being said. I've seen far too many dodgy subtitled movies.
I've watched it 7 times already (I preordered the DVD a month ago) and I'm still astonished about those computer made special effects and music. It looks like they are made in Hollywood with million dollar budget and by an army of hard core professionals. The acting is not so good, but you got to remember that these guys are pure amateurs. It is a bit loss though for those who can't understand Finnish that some of its jokes and Finnish idioms can't be translated to English perfectly. The English translation could also have been little better, but it does the job as it is now. The DVD has also 45 minutes long document of making the movie and its predecessors. The movie is truly an amazing achievement from talented and persistend people.
