Here, I don't think you're using that thing right. The way I read the phrasebook, he's saying something like "I will not buy this record, it is scratched.".

I think we ought to tell him he isn't paying for UQM, just to make sure he doesn't demand his money back.

That brings to mind a question. Is it legal to sell UQM? I
mean if I download the files, burn some CDs and put it in
a nice CD case...maybe with a star map, is there anything
to prevent me from selling the product?

Personally, I'd rather point people to the website and tell
'em to download it for free. This is just a "for instance" question.

As usual, the following is my interpretation, not a lawyer's. Trust this at your own peril.

The UQM code is under the General Public License, which states that you are allowed to sell the program (modified or unmodified) as long as the buyer receives the source code or you offer the source code at a charge no higher than the costs of copying the source code. Also, you may not limit the buyer's rights as granted by the GPL to modify and distribute the program.

The UQM content is under a separate license:
Quote
The content -- voiceovers, dialogue, graphics, and music -- are
copyright (C) 1992, 1993, 2002 Toys for Bob, Inc. or their
respective creators.  The content may be copied freely as part of
a distribution of The Ur-Quan Masters.  All other rights are reserved.

In other words, if you want to sell an unmodified UQM to people, just put the UQM installer, content packages and source code on a CD and sell it. Starmaps are a separate matter if you haven't made them yourself; I suggest getting the mapmaker's permission to distribute the map first.

For the exact terms, read the file COPYING from the UQM directory.

I think what I said means "Hey lads/small people, [swearword] plasticfolder with orange(fruit)-like surface".

Close. More like "Hi, [plant] bulbs! Damn folder pocket!", although "mukulat" can also be interpreted as obsolete slang for "kids".
