Code:
$ cd /Applications/The Ur-Quan Masters.app/Contents/Resources
$ ../MacOS/The\ Ur-Quan\ Masters -o
The Ur-Quan Masters v0.4.0 (compiled May 21 2005 15:37:05)
This software comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY;
for details see the included 'COPYING' file.

Initializing base SDL functionality.

Hello. I'm also trying to run v. 0.4.0 under OS 10.4.

Here is what I get when I use the code provided above in the Terminal:

Code:

Initializing base SDL functionality.
Using SDL version 1.2.8 (compiled with 1.2.8)
Fatal error: Could not find content.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

I cannot reproduce what you are seeing, but from all outward appearances, you are doing all the steps correctly; it's just not working.

Probably better to just download this version and sidestep the issue completely.

Looking at those screenshots (thanks, themadthinker!) I have a theory.  This looks like it's Bug #740 in our bug database, so I've attached a partial fix as a patch to that bug.  However, since I'm developing on Linux, I can't actually test it...

If Pure-SDL mode works with no scaler with that patch, but breaks as soon as you select bilinear, then I do believe we've found the problem and I can work on a complete fix.

Seeing as I cannot reproduce the problem on my machine, I've made the following files available:

http://www.submedia.net/uqm/uqm-patch-1.zip
http://www.submedia.net/uqm/uqm-patch-2.zip

People having the "bad video" problem are hereby invited to download them both and report the results of running each in non-OpenGL mode, i.e., #1 works, #2 doesn't, etc.

Hi. Just a note to say that on an Apple iBook G4 (1Ghz) machine running OS X 10.4.2 that patch 2 was the one that worked for me.

Heya -

Nic, any plans to make a Mac ship editor? For game data, or for art?
