And be sure to have them call themselves the Dill-rats while you're at it ... extremely important.

You have to get into the Ilwrath home system, no other will suffice. Once there, just use it from the item menu and a conversation will pop up.

If you meet an Ilwrath ship in space and talk with it, making fun of their god's names (?Doggone and Quasar?), they will refer to the coordinates of a star system where they say you can "look into the eye of Kazon" ... or something like that. That is their home system (yes, it's not inside their sphere of influence). You can use the caster effectively from that system. Using it any where else will only have Ilwraths telling you that they are essentially unworthy to hear your words and they will tell you to speak to their leaders instead.

I noticed something interesting and a bit obscure today while playing. Once you send the Dill-rats off on their ill-fated quest to beat on the Thraddash and they eliminate themselves, you can visit their homeworld and see that it is in ruins. BUT, if you use the Umgah caster within the system, SUDDENLY you'll be talking to the Dill-rat leaders. Now that's what I call a plot inconsistancy. It's probably in the original game code too. I don't recall if I ever tried it back then, but it works in the UQM. Do any of the developers have any ideas on this? Is this a bug from the port or was it in the original code? If so, is it easy to fix?
Just curious ... lowest priority. Again, I love the game.
Thanks -PsiPhi

"If all else fails, give up": I think this is a kind of hard coded logic in any sufficiently advanced organism. I think the dill-rats would not pummel themselves to death. There would be a few cowardly dill-rats that would skip the big battle -- since skpping big battles is a winning strategy from an evolutionary standpoint.
Perhaps these are also the dill rats hiding out in caves in an obscure moon that answer the phone.
