End Cinematics absent?
« on: December 15, 2002, 05:42:17 am »

I'm running v.12 and finished the game. I recall many moons ago that there was some end stuff that happened: The Sa-matra blowing up, the talking pet being crabby, the Syreen and you back on the earth station...and maybe some stuff with the aliens you made contact with? Is that absent in the 3DO version or what?

The 3DO version had a nifty 3D version of the ending:

It just hasn't been implemented yet.  The game is still an alpha, after all..

But they never recorded the voicing for the end credits jokes!

We'll have to make do with text....

Wait, can they recreate the end credits sequence with what they've got?

When you think about it, and I mean really think about it, would you really want a bunch of bored voice actors reading the end credits off of a script??  Don't get me wrong, I think they did their jobs quite competently, but some of the takes that made it into the game lack... soul.

Besides, I have my doubts that even the most talented voice actor could pull off the Ur-Quan's "Blah blah blah!  Mary had a little lamb!" bit..  Some things just do not lend themselves well to the spoken word..
