save games in mac version
« on: November 17, 2005, 10:48:47 pm »

Hello. Where are the saved game files kept in the Mac package? I can't seem to find them. I am asking because I would like to transfer my windows saved game to the mac version if possible.

Thanks!

Mac OS X is a good little Unix, so in that fine tradition, they're kept in ~/.uqm/

Of course, the Finder hides files and folders that start with ".", so if you want to poke around in there, you'll need to assert yourself a bit.  In the Finder, hit Command-Shift-G and enter "~/.uqm" in the dialog, and a window should open with all of your savegames, etc.

Not that this will do you any good, mind you; savegames are not compatible between the Mac and PC versions yet.  This is expected to change in future revisions, however.

Does anyone know if there is a converter available?  This still doesn't seem to be supported with 0.50.  I'd very much like to continue to play UQM on my Mac (was playing it on my PC), but don't want to start over!

There isn't one.
