You could always win after 2160 when the Ur Quan Kohr Ah are eliminating everyone.... How could you say they survive then? Obviously they survive in the squel, but sometimes people still "win" the game without actually completing all the subquests properly.
Er I think I missed a lot of the game, I didn't know you could actually let the Kohr Ah move beyond their sphere of influence. I passed the game in the year 2157.

1. Yes, there are some hints and info, some allies you talk to might give you some hints / info, otherwise, seek the Melnorme, but carry around a few hundred credits, enough to buy several bits of information
2. The Arilou uses the warp pod from the Dreadnought because if you use your own warp pod, too bad for you....
3. I think that's all the Orz were used for...
4. The slave shield at Gaia, that is the Chmmr's duty to lower it and break it.
5. I don't know about the headache part, I ignored it.
6. The Spathi would tell you that there are hyperwave broadcasts about some funny monster which is going to eat them or something, well that's the hyperwave transmission from the Umgah Caster, a prank by the Umgah. I HATE THEM, I KILLED THE ENTIRE UMGAH SPECIES....
7. Usually I would take other alien species advices to explore some planet or star system if they mention something weird around. And yes, I followed Tanaka's word and found the Sun Device.
8. Well, one way is to trade 100 crew, otherway ( my method ) is to wait till the Kohr-Ah killed the Druuge before I go on their planet and take the rosy sphere. The Druuge deserved death anyway...
9. I haven't tried that... I want the Pkunk to be alive, that way I can have free palm readings.
