This may be a stupid question, but where can I attain the source code?  And what Language?  C++ or Assembly?

I believe the original source was written in ANSI C.  I'm not sure where to get the actual source code files, but they're probably around here someplace...

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sc2/  (sourceforge is great when you are searching for some kind of program. All open source there - no license issues.)
and take a look around (webcvs might help you further..... see http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/sc2/.

Another great starters point to search for UQM stuff is:

http://uqm.stack.nl
and the Ultronomicon (http://uqm.stack.nl/wiki/Main_Page), although I did not find anything about the sourcecode (where it is and such) in there.
