Battle Problems

The game runs fine.
The only problem I have is with the fighting.
When my ship and another one get into a fight, the screen goes black.
I can still see everything else fine, like the Crew stats on the right and other stuff, its just that one part of the screen that isnt showing any of the fight.
It used to show it, but it stopped for some reason.
I remember trying to change some settings to make it look better and didnt have any problems until now. Ive reset to default and still have the problem.

Some ideas:
  • Are you running in full screen mode? If not, try that (and vice versa).
  • Is your desktop colour depth 8 bit? If so, increase it to 16 bit or more.
  • Are you using OpenGL mode? If so, turn it off. If not, turn it on.
  • Are your display drivers OK? Try upgrading to the latest drivers from your chipset manufacturer.
  • Try deleting or renaming the UQM configuration files to reset it to the default behaviour.
  • If everything else fails, you could try reinstalling UQM.
