content/lbm contains the following files:

arispace.ogg
battle.ogg
credits.ogg
hyper.ogg
outfit.ogg
shipyard.ogg
starbase.ogg

this doesn't seem to include any of the files for:
in the solar system
orbiting planets (there are more than one of these I think)
any clue where these are?

Yeah, OggDrop is basically a cute GUI wrapper around oggenc, which is pretty limited in what it can accept as an input file (namely, 44,100kHz/16-bit/little-endian PCM files) so it's ease-of-use comes with a fairly big caveat..

If you need a more general-purpose editor/converter, take a gander at Audacity; I will personally vouch for it's ability to export MP3 files as WAV and OGG, I have no idea if it can handle WMAs, however..  (don't have any)

Seeing as how I use Goldwave for all my audio editing, an .ogg plug-in for that would be nice.  Anyone have any idea where to find one? (no, I hjaven't tried Goldwave.com yet.  If they have it up there, then I'm sure I'll get to see what my foot tastes like when it's in my mouth)

It's available from Goldwave as calogg00.zip  Instructions on installation can be found here.

How does that foot taste?  Wink

Oooooh - sooo many options, sooo little time!

I  w a s  thrilled by the idea of doing something with the music and/or the speech...

Even considering a translation into a language I know even better than English - but for that to really work I would need my semester break for sure  a n d  the help of a couple of friends of mine. It  w o u l d  sound stupid if everyone had the same voice - especially the Syreen having my husky (smoker's) voice  Grin

Does anyone have an idea concerning a good tool to edit soundwaves (.wav) and make them sound different/weird/add some stuff?

Read all the comments about .ogg-files, now I would like to create some .wav-files and tune them accordingly

You'd also have to go through the entire game to reset the text-speech sync

unless you record the speech fragments to have the same lengths as the original!

be warned  Grin

I know, I know.

It would be  r e a l l y  cool though to have the game in German for all those poor bastards whose English is really really bad - and starring myself e.g. as the Base Commander  Cheesy

But that synchronization tool would help a lot - tested it the other night and it's fairly easy although pretty time consuming...

We'll see what my schedule permits me to accomplish.

Any idea how to "tune" .wav recordings to make them sound really great and unique? I don't own a studio, you know?

This would be the first time I could do something really cool with the game besides playing it till my fingers cramp ;-)
