Having an issue starting the game:
« on: January 17, 2006, 06:54:03 am »

As soon as things start up, the game kind of stalls out on the logo.  It doesn't get any further than that.  In the DOS box it seems to be stuck on lbm/boosml.ani, doesn't go anywhere.  The program itself hasn't CRASHED, though, it's just..sitting there.  The files inside the UQM files seems fine, too, no problems there.

I'm running Windows XP Pro with a GeForce 6800, and could actually run this game once upon a time.  Don't know why it's not working now...

Nobody?  Damn.

I've tried all sorts of different settings for this thing, audio and video, and tried using the UQMLoader prog as well.  Nothing doing, same result every time.

Any ideas at all>

If your video drivers are up-to-date, try one of the snapshots.

You've tried this with both OpenGL mode and "pure" mode? (You can choose this in the loader).

Both modes, yeah.  Multiple resolutions, with and without audio.  It just stops right there, nothing happens, but the program itself doesn't crash.

Today, after nothing at all changed, it works just fine.

Weird.

I have seen this happen, but only on Windows 95. OpenAL library causes really long waits in the synchronization code. When it does happen, It's on every fade-out/-in.
If this happens again, see if waiting about 5 minutes produces any progress or not.
