Topic: Contacting Arilou and delivering Shofixti maiden: Stupid me or bug? (Read 3724 times)

Hi there!
I have two major problems winning the game:
I cannot make contact with the arilou. Maybe I'm just too stupid, but I've tried it @ 613.4 : 590.0 many times at different dates and never succeeded. Any hint's what I'm doing wrong? How did you establish the contact?
The other problem that I have is that I cannot deliver the Shofixti maiden. I have them on board, but cannot tell Tanaka that I have them. No matter what I tell him, he will attack me. I have also tried settling them on each planet of delta Gorno or use the Maiden device in direct proximity to Tanaka, nothing has worked so far.
I'm glad for any help!

You are correct, Halleck. The Arilou have a small SOI centered around the portal location, which they patrol just like any other race. However, talking to Skiff captains is pretty much useless, unless you want to pick a fight with them for some reason; I think you learn most, if not all, of the Arilou's useful information at their homeworld.

Actually, the Arilou in-space ships work just like the Pkunk in-space ships: each time you meet one, you can ask it for some info... This way, you'll learn about stuff like The Words, etc... Though most of that info isn't of too much use, though... But as always there's got to be something yo didn't know yet...

Yup, that has helped. The Shofixti still haven't created a new generaion because Tanaka attacks me even if I insul him and when I don't defend myself, he kills me. So what! The Sa-Matra is history. Thanks a lot!

Stalefish, if you're still curious about Tanaka, and don't mind a more blatant hint:
How did that old saying go..."He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day."
Suicide is not the only peacable option in combat.

So this answers my initial question: Stupid me! 
So far I had never made use of he escape-button so I just never thought of this being a possibility. Thanks!

yea what do you know, the darn thing actually has a use ...
Although I hear that if you kill him, and then go and aquire the maidens or do some other things (maybe wait for a certain date) his brother shows up at that system, and that he is more willing to talk before firing.
