I have a suggestion: plug a real keyboard into your craptop.  They cost as little as $10 retail, and are easy to loot for free from uncle freds old computer bin.  You can get them in PS2 or USB, your laptop should be able to grok at least one if not both.

Ok, I change my vote ... Dave's suggestion is far superior to my previous one (especially since he used the word/idea "grok" in a sentence ... extra bonus points).

My old Gateway laptop's keyboard stopped working.  Rather than spend $300 on a P2-266 I decided to get an external keyboard.  But I can't fit a fullsize keyboard in my laptop case.

So I got that.  I can wrap it around the laptop and shove it in.  Or, I can roll it up and put it in the side pouch.

Combined with a mouse, I just lay the keyboard on top of the laptop's regular keyboard.  Helps keep me up close.  But I could lay it on the desk in front too.

Or, for a more dedicated solution that also keeps the keyboard close to the screen...

They said they are due to ship in mid-January.  I can't wait to get... uh... three of them.  Smiley
