hey

in the "personal messages" in the forum, the link to the image:
http://uqm.stack.nl/forum/Themes/uqm/images/icons/pm_read.gif
is broken. also, there's an ugly blue border on some of the other links.

just FYI

Icons fixed. I don't know what blue borders you're talking about.

Also, the "insert quote" function (which appears next to posts in the Topic Summary when writing a reply) never seems to work - it simply says "An Error Has Occurred! Unable to load the 'quotefast' template".

Hmm... are you using a custom style sheet? Anyone else has this problem?

Oddly enough, I see the exact same blue borders, at least on my work PC running IE. I'll check it again when I get home and have access to Firefox (which I suspect will look normal).

Suffice to say, I don't have the required access level to even check settings on here, so I can't really be of much help. I just wanted to let you know that the problem is not unique.

Yea, I usually just use quotation marks, since I have trouble getting the quote boxes to work, as well.

Quoting broke after I upgraded to SMF 1.1 RC2 some while ago. (Note that it still works if you're not using quick reply.)
There's still no newer version released.

I get image borders in the PM section only. They can be fixed by setting border="0" in the <img> tag.

Using Quotation Marks- the Mark of True Smartness
« Reply #11 on: March 06, 2006, 04:59:03 am »

I'm not complaining, I mostly prefer using quotation marks to contain others' sentences- that's practically what they're for anyway. I mean, people use them for that all the time these days. Smiley

I find it rather irritating personally, when people use quotation marks when there is a feature better suited for media like this. You have to go looking for the closing quotation mark, while if it has a different colour, it's immediately clear who said what, on just a glance. It's just a waste time.

The "Quote" button on each message in the normal thread view works fine, but "Insert Quote" in the thread summary on the reply form doesn't, so it's only really a problem if you want to quote multiple people in one post. Personally, I just surround multiple quotes with quote tags:
Code:
[quote author=FooBarZoq]Paste quote here[/quote]

The result is something like this:

Of course, it would be really nice if the "Insert quote" feature worked.
