Searching for Pablo Luna's "Burtons Discovery" powerpoint presentation...
« on: March 01, 2006, 04:24:37 pm »

(This post is crossposted on UQM forums, as well as PONAF forums..)

Okay.. So.. A few years back, there used to be this Powerpoint presentation made by a guy called Pablo Luna, which basically told the story from the crash of the Tobermoon, to the finding of the Cave. I might be missing something here, though, since it's been a while since I saw it. Anyways, it was really great, and quite possibly better than the original SC2 PC intro, because it gave just that tiny extra bit of backstory. Visually, it was awesome, too...

Now, I had the idea of actually converting this into a new redone intro (by using the graphics), but adding just that little bit of extra backstory to it. So I began searching the interweb, found an URL that linked to the presentation and other work of Pablo Luna (http://starcontrol.classicgaming.gamespy.com/fan/3drender13.shtml), but guess what? Fileplanet totally SCREWED the files off their server. Wayback Archive doesn't know it, and I don't have it on any of my PCs anymore, either!

That's why I need <YOU>! Can everyone who reads this and who remembers the slideshow please search on their HDs for the following files:
pablo-chapter1.zip
pablo-chapter2.zip
pablo-chapter3.zip
pablo-chapter4.zip
pablo-making_of_burtons_discovery.zip

Thanks. It'd be nice if we could get this back and make ourselves a new intro.. Also, note that I've e-mailed Pablo Luna on his e-mail address (as shown on the PONAF renderings link I put up there above), but I've got no idea whether I'd ever get a reply or not..

Thanks again.

File planet has free servers, but you have to wait in line sometimes when there full. Wait for the page to fully load and scroll to the bottom, can't miss 'em.
