Er, feel kinda awkward asking for this but I'm not sure where else to really go, really. I hope someone can help me out.
Anyway, been playing SC2 since it came out (as best I can remember) and I used to have a copy of the Role Playing Resource Guide. I thought it was incredibly cool and I spent hours just reading and absorbing all the detail in it. Lately I've been doing SC2 related fanstuff and since I'm a stickler for random details and such, I wanted ta look at the Roleplaying Guide thingy again ta check on small details and ta see if there was anything in there that leapt out at me ta be drawn or something. Problem is I went looking for my copy of it recently and over time, it's vanished. It's probably lost somewhere in the clutter around my house, never ta be found again, so I tried the link on the PoNaF for it, but it was broken.
SO to get to the point, does anyone have a copy of the PDF file they'd be willing ta send my way? I'd be really grateful.
So this isn't an entirely begging-type post, I did do some stuff lately that I thought some of ya might be interested in. I haven't really done a lot of Starcon2 fanart, despite my deep love for the game, since the races can be tricky to draw, but I've done my share over time. Lately I played through the game again which kind of kicked me into overdrive for once and now I've got tons of little sketches. Most of them are silly little pencil things but I've done some actual serious stuff here and there. http://www.drdowasure.com/images/msp/Yehatdyingstars.jpg - of note, I did this one digitally while reading that one Honour fic, which I really liked. Maybe I'm just a big sap or something, but I've always found the Shofixti's sacrifice to be incredibly tragic, especially for the "parents" left behind. Mostly though, this was inspired by that one line the Rebels say when they talk about the end of the war. Where is it... "When the Ur-Quan came, the Shofixti fought as immortal heroes!... darting in and out of the Dreadnought formations and then suddenly BLAZING!... like dying stars." It just gave me this very clear mental picture of the scene...just the tiny ships exploding from such a far distance, tiny flares of life in a futile effort to stop the invasion. Don't mind me.
Turns out after I drew one Yehat I couldn't stop. IT'S LIKE A SICKNESS OR SOMETHING. Anyway, mostly I just have Yehat sketches at the moment but I did finish another one. http://www.drdowasure.com/images/msp/YehatShofixtihug.JPG - Again I am a huge sap. I always pictured the Yehat totally freaking out and hugging the Shofixti when they found out they were reborn. I'm a big dork that way. They look way too calm here but whatever. I ended up tweaking this into a 800x600 wallpaper too for the heck of it - http://www.drdowasure.com/images/msp/Yehatshofixtiwp2.JPG
http://www.drdowasure.com/images/msp/Yehatsketches.GIF - What is the deal with the Yehat's wings/arms? They've got two wing designs in the talk screen. I dunno if that was a mistake or intentional, but my guess is that if it was intentional it'd be some kind of gender difference. Then again I could go on and on for hours justifying or making up random stories about little details no one cares about. Most of the time I went with the elbow-wingfinger thing just for the heck of it. It was fun to draw cause it was so different. http://www.drdowasure.com/images/msp/Yehatisover.GIF - So dramatic. I just like drawing wings.
http://www.drdowasure.com/images/msp/UtwigSupoxunderstand.JPG - I love the Utwig but they are so, so easy to make fun of. I DON'T TAKE THIS GAME VERY SERIOUSLY I'M AFRAID.
I have to admit that most of my little sketches though involve Admiral ZEX. I'm probably his only and most devoted little fangirl, which is tremendously sad, I know. I've always liked him since I first played the game some twelve years ago or so, and I think it's because of him that I have this weird fondness for the VUX. As a result, most of my goofy Starcon2 doodles involve ZEX. I know it's weird. Shh.
http://www.drdowasure.com/images/msp/Zexfwee.gif - Goofyness. http://host.avdns7.com/~zarla/images/msp/Zexhughuman.jpg - This one is actually kind of old but is still rather silly. http://www.drdowasure.com/images/msp/Zexplaydollsi.JPG - I think Spaceballs is responsible for this goofy thing. "No, sir! I didn't see you playing with your dolls again, sir!"
ANYWAY if I finish some other stuff or do some other silly doodles I'll put up links, if anyone's interested.

Haha! Wonderful! That absolutely made my day!
You know, you're quite an accomplished artist. I sure wouldn't mind seeing more SC related stuff, and I just KNOW I'm not alone in that respect around here.
Keep up the good work!

Agreed, awesome stuff! Really nice pieces. I was pleasantly surprised. ^_^ The reflections in the first is nice, and I love the shofixti/Yehat one.
As for the humor ones...Zex with dolls = the win!

Heh, that's good cause I've done lots of little sketches. I'm trying to color a few of them at the moment, so I'll hopefully have something done fairly soon with the Pkunk and Yehat.
Holy my crap. Do you want to make out? Haha, you can thank my friend for that quote. I should put that in there somewhere...
Gah! Why didn't I think of looking there?! Jeez, what the heck brain. Well, at least I have it now. Boy I feel like a doofus.
I'm thinking it might be good to rewrite this notice as a sticky -
if you're looking for PoNaF files and they seem broken, try fixing the prefix to "classicgaming/starcontrol/"; for example: Aha! I'll try and keep that in mind from now on. :O

I love the art. ZEX and his dolls is awesome.
Am I think only one that feels that the Utwig follow-up should have him with the old "CRAWLING IN MY SKIN!" tagline that seems to be representative of their angst? Also, am I the only one that feels like a goofy little "Punching Jelly" comic strip is in order?

The "We're coming aboard" line is what gets me. Seriously, it needs to be put in a sequel or something.

Wow love the art, esp the detail on the Yehat/Shofixti picture. Some cool stuff. I could argue that Dashboard is not emo but rather quite sappy acoustic pop, or maybe MTVemo, but that's a debate for another forum...hehe <rubs hands ruefully>
All in all, you have some really good stuff!

Scum? I don't think so. "Master" is more like it.

Heh heh...Zex with dolls, classic. You know, it's an awesome pic, but I was thinking, shouldn't there be a "Zex's Beauty" doll too? just a thought. GAH! I just love ALLOFIT! Makes me want to..."Use my glowy things", lol. I must admit, I myself have done a lot of fanart as well, though I'm a little to shy to put any of it up. It all sucks anyways, so it's not like it's anyone's loss. and, btw, Zarla, if you need the resource guide, I could send you any bits and peices of it you need, I still have mine.

Oh wow! Those drawings are excellent, cool, awesome, and did I mention excellent? I especially loved the Yehat dying stars one -- the glowing eyes and the one Yehat in the background covering his eyes just make for a great picture. It quite captures how I felt while reading Honour too, actually.
When I first played SC2 (I had played SC1 a loooong time ago, when I was a kid, and made up a large bunch of little stories about that universe, with some of my friends), and met the Yehat-turned-battle-thralls, man, that had an effect. I couldn't stop thinking about how far they had fallen, and couldn't help but sympathize with the Starship Clan Yehat, torn between two loyalties, and their ambiguous honour code. Before I read Honour, I thought a bit about how it must have been for them, forced to choose between loyalty and doing what is right, and being bound to do something they knew and felt to be wrong. I felt sad for them. And I just loved it when I showed them a live Shofixti, and when they come running with the cavalry in the end.
