Okay, this game looks great, but How do I make it run on OSX?
I have downloaded the MAC file .dmg from the sc2.sourceforge.net site, but I get is error: no mountable file systems. I downloaded the file from Nic, and every time I try to run it, I get " this application has unexpectedly quit".
What am I to do???
Someone help me before I go and buy a Gamecube or something?
P.S. I know barely anything about coding....

Erm, no. You CAN run it straight from the mounted disk image, as I do on a regular basis.
Now, I am running 10.4.5 which is the latest version of OS X but any version of OS X should mount the native dmg file format. What version of the OS are you running?
If you are running OS X, what version are you running? If you create a new dmg in Disk Utility, can you mount it as read-write?

Nope, don't understand anything you said..... I'm no expert. any way, when I try to run 5.0, The icon bounces a few secs, then disappears. What now???

You tell us what version of OS X you are running as well as what type of machine you are running it on.
Go to the apple at the upper left hand side of the screen and click on "About This Mac" which will tell you what version of the OS you are running. If you click on "More Info" it will also tell you what type of Mac you have under "Machine Name".
Report both of those back here and it is almost a certainty I have that combo to test with and I'll see if I can replicate your issue. So far, I have had it work on 10.3.x and 10.4.x

Ok, first things first.
Run Software Update and update your version of 10.2! 10.2.1 has the ancient binaries left over from 10.1 which sucked. Also, 10.2.8 brought with it a lot of fixes to video and audio problems in many applications. Update to 10.2.8 and then try launching the app again.
Can you give me more specifics on the machine; processor speed, amount of memory and video card?

Yes, 10.2.8.
Even on dial-up and there are enormous reasons why you should download it, no matter the time frame. Improved performance, improved compatibility, security, application and process upgrades...quite a great deal, as you can see. It also added support for DMGs other than sparse images. If you don't know what I am talking about, I respectfully point you towards search.info.apple.com so that you can research the many fixes between 10.2.1 and 10.2.8.

You will have to log in with your Apple ID or .Mac ID. If you don't have one, don't worry, they're easy to create and you do it right on the web. This is for the combo update, so you only have to download it and, after that, you can install the 5 security updates that came out after 10.2.8, if you wish. However, they aren't required to fix the problem with UQM.
