Beating the Game Differently, revisited
« on: April 08, 2005, 01:06:14 pm »

For those of you who wanted to explore another way of playing the game (as discussed here), it is now possible to finish the game without ever visiting the human Starbase. So dust off your pre-bomb savegames and get ready to fight your way through Ur-Quan defensive lines with only the ships you've got left!  Wink

For now, at least until the next official release, you will have to build your own executable from sources in CVS or download a snapshot.

The link mentioned on winning the game differently was not linkable.  How do you do that?

Since the Forum software was replaced by SMF, this thread is located here. See also here for other gameplay challenges.

Thank you.  That's awesome.  Im really impressed.  I flew around and tried to just live against the probes for a few hours but couldn't do it.  Sometimes the thing starts just next to you and you die.  So then you reload and try again.  I'd have to do it 1,000,000 times to complete it this way I think.  It's really really cool that you can do it though!

God bless the internet.
