OpenAL problem under WinXP
« on: March 18, 2006, 10:07:37 pm »

Hi, I'm having a strange problem with what seems to be the sound card. I used to be able to successfuly open the program and run it, but I think I somehow screwed up the sound settings inside the game. Anyhow, the DOS box gives me this feedback window. The game window is just a black screen.

Couldn't Initialize OpenAL: 40961
Sound Driver Initialization Failed.
This may happen when a soundcard is not present or not available.

Thing is, it ran perfectly fine before I tweaked the ingame settings. Is there a way that I can force all settings back to default outside of the program?

Try deleting your settings file. See here for information on where it's stored. Alternatively, you could try changing the settings from the command line.
