Calculation of propabilities/chances?
« on: March 25, 2006, 06:23:34 pm »

In Super-Melee!, how is actually the chance for a Pkunk to respawn (Hallelujah!) calculated... Seems to have something to do with the amount of crew you had just before destruction.

Another thing: In Story Mode(before you started the Yehat-Revolution), how is the propability calculated, if Yehat will Attack you or not (depending on every single encounter)?

50%, independant of everything.

Again, 50-50. There's actually no decision made whether a Yehat will attack you or not. The Yehat royalists and the Yehat rebels are handled independantly. There's a chance that you'll encounter a black globe in HyperSpace every game day, and this is the same chance for either faction.

Alternately, there's an area of space where only the rebels have influence, and if you park here, only rebels will spawn (It's the sphere furthest to the right)

No actually I talked about the Yehat royalist before the revolution starts.

Hmm... I never realised there was randomness involved there. But a quick look at the code shows that the chance is again 50-50.

Thank you.

The Yehat-Soundtrack (PC-version) is soooo cool, I'm listening to the MOD by now... why is there no Precursor-remix yet, is it too good to remix?  Grin

It sounds so triumphal and everything, when I first met them I could not believe they would not ally with me, because the music is that much like "aye, we are the strong guys to fight on your side!"

As you can see It's a favorite tune of many... the Precursors are taking some extra time to give the yehat remix the TLC it deserves. Smiley

To me, the yehat tune conveys a great sense of sad nobility and lost honor. They were such a proud race, but they betrayed their allies and have been reduced to slaves.
