These sort of things drive me crazy. There's no refering page, it's a one page website. So I don't know and can't find out who did it and why. Where'd this come from?

That's the beauty of ytmnd.com, chaos from out of nowhere.

Try running a search for "star control" on the main YTMND site.

YTMND.com is a website built and designed for the creation and sharing of YTMND sites.

Now that you're thouroughly confuzzled, a real explanation.

A YTMND consists of Image, Sound and optionally text. The Image can be animated, though "Purists" on that site love to downvote them.

YTMND often references popular culture and more often then not, itself. A fad that begins on YTMND can often be combined with a cult icon, which in turn might spawn a new fad. The new fad may in turn reference the old fad or combine with it, forming a third brand new fad.

It's a wonderful study of memes if your into that sort of thing.

Currently there are appears to be no major fad on YTMND, though it's a matter of time before a new fad arises and takes over as they normally do. Todays current most viewed ytmnd, for instance, is http://badidea.ytmnd.com/.

I'd go into more detail but work calls. Wikipedia goes into it far better then I can though

Haha... YTMND can be pretty retarted but there are a handful of downright hilarous ones.

One of my faves:

Did this thing get it's start on the SomethingAwful forms? Seems like every retarded piece of humor perpetuated by sheer technical brilliance and suported by money that seems to come out of nowhere got it's start there.

which, for the uninitiated, is in response to the perennial "Tom Cruise Kills Oprah[video here]

All right, that's about as many internet memes as I can stand for the moment.

Woops, I thought I had linked to "Tom Cruise Kills Oprah." They're both funny, especially when the laughing sinks up correctly.
