0.5.0 install issue
« on: April 02, 2006, 12:42:34 am »

anybody else getting a 'failure to conect to host' error while running the installer? It's a mandatory package delivery and I can't run it at all. Downloaded the installer from a few different mirrors, but still no go...

Could it be that you have a firewall that is not allowing the installer to open a network connection?

Predownload the packages you want off the download page and stick them in the installer's directory.  It'll read them out of the package directory before trying to go out to the net.  (You can change it, but it defaults to the installer's directory.)

If you're just doing a Minimal or Mimic PC install, you only need the uqm-0.5.0-content.uqm file.  If you're using IE, make sure that IE isn't sticking a spurious .zip on the end of it (and rename it if it does).

I did, but MD5
« Reply #3 on: June 05, 2006, 04:39:29 pm »

I did that, but the MD5 sums don't match those of sourceforge

Maybe there could be some room left to the user to choose a different package?
Especially the voice package is huge.
