I like the Idea of an Arilou with limpets... You'd be able to teleprot in and cripple your opponent...

I suppose that on the Hierarechy side at least, this could have easily been implemented, seeing as the Kzer-Za had all the blueprints for their ships... But I doubt that the alliance after the war will feel greatlyu incented to share all their military secrets though. Everyone wants to keep their edge, or at least the more advanced races...

Well, the idea was that if you "SWAPPED" in limpets, you'd be losing the teleport to gain the limpets.
This ship would be weaker in many cases, yes. But the additional range of the limpets might change tactics enough that the teleport won't be missed except against tracking weapons.

Ok I know that this topic is old, but here I go.

As to how the Human civilization would work after the war, I think that they would work out some thing like the United States or the European Union to maintain order. I think each star system would become like a state, and would send representatives to Earth to maintain a democratic system.

I think that it would work this way for humans because despite the fact that humans have their differences aliens are just too different, and so the humans would band together to deal with other races.

I thought about the super ship idea a while back. I think
my ideal was a ship with massive batteries and crew, which
manouvered like a Chmmer, with better thrust, Yehat shields
and a Ur-Quan plasma gun.

For my project I'm thinking of having some sort of scalable modules, less binary in their use than the SC2 stuff.  A gun of weapon technology X might be scaled by Size and TechLevel. Everything has a mass and cost that counts towards a total, so a ship with a bit of everything won't be very good. If this works some sort of rock-paper-scissors thing might evolve on its own. Specialized ships will be more efficient if employed correctly. Gotta be careful with stuff like shields so they're scalable in their efficiency too.

My SC supership with only 2 techs would be...

Hull: ZFP Stinger
Primary: Lick
Secondary: Yehat Shields

... okay maybe that would suck but it would be fun! Maybe.
