 Cheesy
is it possible to find a folder download that will contain everything that is needed to compile and modefy the game. I've some previous programming experiance and am a fast learner but can't find the required compiler for this game. If it would be possible to give explicit instructions or create a folder that has everything I would be greatful. Thanks for the assistance. Also if I do obtain the requested material then I could help add to your program as I'm creative, inventive, and have spare time. please send responce to rgtm202006@hotmail.com

If you want the source files for the 0.5.0 release, download this tarball:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sc2/uqm-0.5.0-source.tar.gz?download

For the latest "development version" and the ability to keep up-to-date with changes to the code, you'll need to set up CVS as follows:

1. Install a CVS client. Commandline works on any platform, but if you have windows I reccomend TortoiseCVS.

2. Check out the appropriate module from the project's CVS repository. I think you want the module "sc2".

Either way, there should be an INSTALL file that tells you what dependencies you need to download in order to get the game to compile. I've gotten it to compile in Visual Studio before, but that was a long time ago. I was able to compile some of the project utilities with Dev-C++, which I think uses a slightly modified GCC, but I never tried using it for the whole game.

I think the reccomended way to go is the MinGW (GCC-based) build system.

You're welcome.

Project Aqua is still in a closed pre-alpha stage, we don't have any releases yet. Check your email...
