I was just wondering..... Do we really have to redownload the game every time new version comes out? Aren't there any patches that we could simply download instead. I know there's a program called ipsXP wich creates patches, so i was wondering if you could release atleast in that way, a patch. Thanks in advance for responses.

If you're compiling from source, you can use CVS to keep your copy of UQM up to date. The current CVS version is also automatically compiled and a replacement Windows binary and content update pack generated; download them from the UQM snapshot page. The difference from UQM 0.5 is only about a megabyte this way. It should be easy (just leave the current system alone!) to get a 0.5 -> 0.6 update package set this way.
To upgrade from 0.5 to bleeding edge CVS (give or take a few hours), download the Windows release binary and content update package and apply as described on the snapshot page.
If you have the 0.4 binary installed, you'll have to install 0.5 normally, except that you can change the voice package's version number from 0.4 to 0.5 instead of redownloading (the files are the same, the version number in the name is the only difference!).
Speaking of version 0.6, how soon can we expect it to be released, also, will it have the optional graphics packages like have been discussed?
