I can't believe someone else has actually played Ascendancy :-P  The only time I've met other people who've played that game is when *I* gave it to them  Roll Eyes

What about the original Worms?

What say we get older?  Who played Dragonhawk, Haunted House, Impossible Mission, Drelbs, Sundog, Dungeon Master, Chaos Strikes Back, and Joust?  Anyone but me?  ^_^

Atari ST rocks!

see, i was trying to keep it on the PC but it looks like we've hit the commodore 64, atari 2600, and other flavors.

tunnels of doom on the TI 99/4A
parsec on the TI 99/4A
summer games, winter games, *.games on C64
jumpman.  jumpman jr.
adventure.
legacy of the ancients
racing destruction set
forbidden forest
archon
archon ][

i still remember how disappointed i was that the atari versions of the games weren't as cool as the actual arcades, but that stuff was still fun.

i just picked up the DVD set of dragon's lair, dragon's lair 2, and space ace ... oh the memories... (:

MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries is pretty new... and StarCraft: Ghost will be coming out next year... um, if you even count that as StarCraft.

Dungeon Master rocks!  I used to play that a bit with a friend who, oddly enough, was also named Casey.  Then he moved to PA and I was sad.  Then he moved back to VA and I was happy!  Then I changed schools from where we went and I was sad.

Last I heard he wanted to join the military or something?  I ran into him (not literally) while riding my bike something like 5 years ago.  Kinda funky.

Ultima VII is in fact playable on todays systems, but you need two things.  There's a dll written by some french guy that simulates the memory management that U7 required, and it works great.  I found it a long time ago so not sure what Google will turn up.  The second thing you need is moslow, which sucks up CPU cyceles so that old games don't run 100 miles an hour.  Makes it choppy, but playable.

I suggest buying the Ultima collection pack which has all the Ultimas and moslow on it, plus all the maps, manuals, and walkthroughs.

Or you could get Exult, which is an entirely new version of the Ultima VII and VIII engines which uses the original resources and works on modern machines without needing moslo or anything, check google for it.

Starcon 2 (obvious)
Civilization
Command H.Q.
Master of Orion
Sundog: Frozen Legacy
Ascendancy (Awesome MOO-like game)

Midimaze (Before there was multiplayer doom, and before there was single player Wolf, they said "Let their be multiplayer first person frags.. and behold, there was Midimaze)

Empire (multiplayer space empire game played on PLATO, not to be confused with Peter Langston's Empire, which is a different game)

Now I feel old Smiley

Holy crap NORG,

I can't believe you busted out Parsec....LoL  I loved that TI. Do you remember such classics as Hunt the Wompus or Munchman (yes, it was a cheap Pac-Man knockoff), or ooh ooh...The Attack!!!  I cut my teeth on that bad boy.
