A helpful new feature in UQM 0.5.0
« on: June 01, 2006, 10:08:23 pm »

I was reading the Whatsnew file for 0.5.0, and I realized that the starmap is now searchable.

Quote
- The Starmap is searchable!  Type / then the beginning of the
constellation name, and you can tab through all possible
  completions.

If I knew this before, I wouldn't have to look for the coordinates, or write them down anymore...  I hope this helps.

Good one! That's especially helpful for those like myself that don't have the original paper starmap.

And I've been looking up stars on the Ultronomicon star chart and then trying to find them on the starmap... I feel like a dumbass!

It helps to read the documentation. Or the news post announcing the release.  Smiley

I think the true miracle of 0.5 is the new scaler. It really makes the game fun to play, full screen, on a modern system. Very Cool.

Funny, I haven't noticed a huge improvement.  The BIADV option gives me the best results... for example, the Earthling cruiser chassis looks blocky in HQ, but smooth in BIADV.
