A different Mycon problem

I've seen all the posts about people not going to the right homeworld when trying to get the Mycon to go to Organon. I have the right homeworld. This is a different problem. When I visit them for the first time with the egg casing, the option to ask about Deep Children doesn't appear in the dialog choices. There must be some other event that must occur before this will appear? Or is there a minimum game time before it will appear?

I take it you're talking about the question "Why are the Shattered Worlds found only in your region of space?" with the answer "These are the homes of the Deep Children.".
You will be able to ask this question only before you sent them to the Syreen ambush.

Which group are we talking about? Asking the Syreen about the Deep Children or asking the Mycon about them?

To ask the Syreen you have to have found out the purpose behind the Deep Children. Usually it involves either the question meep referred to (which I don't think gets asked actually in UQM except as a last resort), or by talking to the Arilou and possibly getting the base to analyze the Egg Case Fragments.

Finally I gave up and went to Betelgeuse anyway. Fortunately, something got triggered even though I didn't see the question appear and it was possible to continue the plot. But something clearly glitched. I just wonder what it was.

I never asked the mycon about deep children. I alwayd got the relevant info from the melnorme and/or - was it the arilou? I almost think it was. The only time I ever spoke to mycon was to tell them to piss off to organon, and later to find enlightenment.

Okay I see what's going on now. This is a difference between UQM and SC2. In SC2, you had to go to the homeworld to complete the plot in addition to speaking to the Arilou. In UQM, just talking to the Arilou will be enough.
