VUX (limpets bypass the shield)

Juggers can also be beaten by sending off single shots of very low damage weapons.

Good for defeating them:
Mmrnmhrm
Supox
Thraddash (this will take a while)

It is hard to send off a single shot of the Spathi main gun, but if you can, that works too.

When I mowed down my friend's 200-somthing point fleet with a handful of Pkunk ships. Of course, I got really lucky and respawned a bunch of times, but still!

YouSendIt deletes a file either after 7 days from when it was uploaded or 25 times downloaded, which ever comes first.  I can upload it again.

Edit: Here it is.

I surprised my self in melee when I died horribly my never-played-before friends Orz Nemesis's against my Utwig Juggers... that's gotta be the only ship the Juggers aren't good at.

Actually as long as you got the skills and (sometimes) luck, any ship is usually defeatable by another.  Let's just say I got inspired...

File is UTWIG Videos.zip, it's 14010KB. (remember 7 days, 25 downloads)

This is to demonstrate, and basically expose the Utwig ship and its deficiencies.

The only ones aren't present are the Druuge, Earthling, Ilwrath, and Umgah.

Some are harder than others of course and depend on skill and sometimes a lot of luck to win.  Or you could chalk up some of them to the Awesome Cyborg AI and its deficiencies, but anyway, I would think these videos expose a lot of the Utwig and its weaknesses.

Yep and an Utwig is pretty much dogfood against an Orz that sends his marines properly.

My favourite ship for fighting the Utwig is the Spathi Eluder. Stay just out of
range of the Utwig's gun and drop one BUTT at a time. He runs out of
shield energy after a bunchof near misses.

I found that the Androsynth's bubbles are good at depleting the Jugger's Shield.

My best "How did I do that?" moment is when I took down a Ur-Quan Dreadnaught with a Pkunk... and 2 resurrects.

Never succeeded w/ this against a human opponent, but defeating a Guardian with a Nemesis is pretty tough. Even against the comp, you're going to get ripped to pieces most of the time.

If you know where the planet is, you can whip faster than they can blaze. If you fear their ability to get in front of you, then keep orbiting. When they come close, shoot them and whip away, along a cardinal direction so you get back to the planet quickly. If they're building up their battery, launch one marine to force them to deplete.

To Captain Smith (aka Utwigslayer) -

Nice job with the Chmrr! Shocked  I did not think that was possible.

Why did the Utwig not use its shield vs the Kohr-ah and Yehat?  The Kohr-ah in particular I have always thought of as Utwig food.

(And the Mycon battle was a bad case of AI stupidity - very nicely exploited though)

I call it an AI quirk, really.  It just takes into account that the Utwig always shields when you're close to it, and the bad propulsion.

it depends, sometimes they will.  Generally if you look at what I was doing, it's trying to set up a measure of unpredictability by using the propulsion of the Utwig to advantage.  The AI's weakness is that it won't shield on shots sent to the very edges of the ship, and a human weakness would be to shield too much (especially with what I did with the KohrAh ship, but any ship you can be unpredictable with).

Agreed though it's possible to do that to a human too that might shield too much out of fear of getting hit.
