hiya I'm new here, but a big Starcon fan from way back, and I was wondering if someone out there can please help me to get the game running with the remixes on my macbook as I have lots of homework and just don't want to do it. (the homework) Also, if you can give me some pointers on getting the ditties to run I would obviously be thankful. although I can not promise you any monetary compensation, there may be a cookie in it for you. (if you live anywhere near Vancouver island that is, I'm not going to mail it to you) thanking you in advance Bill
p.s. I'll probably thank you after the fact as well.

Well, the bit where it says to specify the command line: '--addon uqremix'. does that mean I just go to the terminal and type that, or is there a command to open Ur Quan Masters that I'm supposed to type, or is there some kind of terminal inside the game? this is where I'm confused. I don't get it. thanks for your help Cheers Bill

No, it means the Mac OS X terminal. Just go to the terminal, cd to the proper directory, and launch UQM with those options.
So if UQM is located in the directory /blah and the executable is called uqm, you would type:
cd /blah ./uqm --addon uqremix

btw, I'm running the OSX package from the downloads section for this, do I have to build from source to get the remixed music? Cheers, again Bill

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.

Can't all this be handled by the in-game setup system? There's no need to hit the terminal.

Any help? I'm Mac OS X illiterate - I don't know how to add the --addon parameter to the .app in the GUI side, and I don't know how to run the .app in the command line. I can't find the executable inside the .app folder either.
I'm trying to use the Finnish translation with the Mac OS X version.
cheers, --Eino

You made it into the .app folder, so you aren't completely terminal illiterate!
The executable is in Contents/MacOS/ To execute the game normally from that directory, you would run ./The\ Ur-Quan\ Masters -n ../Resources/content
It is this command to which you would add --addon uqmremix

I'm completely unfamiliar with Terminal. I just am confused by how it works. Hopefully since I figured out DOS on my own I can figure out terminal......
But until then anyone care to give retard proof directions?
I've got SC2/ UQM in a folder in my applications directory called UQM (Duh). All the files are there. I'm just confused about how the hell the command line interface works on this.
