Not that I'm aware of. However, you should see a little yellow star near Zeeman.

Use PageUp/PageDown or Numpad+/Numpad- to zoom in/out on the starmap.

Or do a search for "Vela" on the map screen.

I think you can only see vela in the closest zoon - or near to it. If you fly autopilot zeeman , you'll see it in hyper space. you can take manual control just before you get there - and steer into vela's gravity well (its the smalelr star)
