Don't know if this was discussed... The landers - by which technology were they produced? If it's a Precursor technology, then how several of them ended up at the Starbase (if you lose a lander during the radioactives quest, Hayes gives you another one). And if the vehicle is of a human origin - where did they get it from on Vela? The simple answer may be "Earthling Cruisers are equipped with landers", but such thing isn't said anywhere

It's a Precursor construct. When you set up shop at the Star base you bring over schematics for the replicators to create anything for your ship including landers. As long as you bring in minerals to create your currency you can build any Precursor tech as long as you have the schematics for it. That's how your able to build launders at the star base and the same way you can build modules for your ship as well. Since you don't have the schematics for Hellbore cannons at the beginning of the game, you can't build them. The Melnorme have Precursor Tech to trade for bio points and some of that Tech are upgrades for your lander also leads me to believe it's of Precursor origin.

The fact that the Melnorme have upgrades for the lander may indicate that they may know something about the Precursors too, or at least their technology anyway.
