I want to play Melee Netplay. I haven't used IRC programs before, and I don't actually know how to use one.
After I go to http://irc.uqm.stack.nl/irc.cgi, how can I talk to people?

Just type in the bottom part of the window. Everything people say will end up in the top part.

I'm having lot of problems with this. If I accidentally click the 'back' button (happens me often) I need to wait until my account times out and then come back. But now (it's 14.53 for me) no one answers me after I log in and say something like 'Hello'. Though in the right corner I see there are many users online. And the program says that 'Galactic has joined #uqm-arena'. Why don't I see anyone talking then? Do I have to join an other channel from the #UQM-arena?

Yeah, they are online, but they're not glaring continuously at that window waiting for someone - or are already in a match. You have to wait.

I am always waiting because I'm new to Melee Multiplayer and so excited Grin

You're in Finland, right?
And you are waiting about when? (what does your local clock say?)

About GMT, it's the time at the Greenwich observatory (in London). If you are on the +2 time zone, like me, and your local clock indicates 15:49, at Greenwich it's 13:49, so you're at 13:49 GMT.

That's your time too, I suppose. Well... so you wait at this hour and nothing happens?! Try waiting (and don't forget to forward your challenge) on Saturday or Sunday - maybe they don't have time right now.

Uh, Finland is on EEST, UTC+3, right now, not EET (UTC+2).
