Despite this being an old thread, I reply.

My nick was born the instant I punched my keyboard with both hands. It spelled out "fsidib" and I added the hyphen in-between. Ta dah!

Oh, what the hell... Another bandwagon to jump on.

My NN is based off my old gaming skills, usually in Halo. I used to be rather stealthy, and then it transcended into reality, and I was either a master at being stealthy, or just plain ignored. Considering my *skills*, I labeled myself "Prowler".

Plus, with a short story/series I was working on (writing, artwork, etc.), I gave my main character the same title. It just seemed fitting (being the character in the story as well) to bear the title.

Oh, and the 2885? That's my birthdate. It looked like a neat number combo to follow the title. Happy birthday to me in 4 days.  Grin

Er, so how did you get two of the same letter in there?

Originally I liked the cold, calculating aspect of the Androsynth, so I figured I'd pick a name of theirs. However, I myself am not exactly a cold, calculating individual, so I might just change it to a name I use in other places (Diablo II, Broodwar, TF2/CS:S and plenty of places), Savage, J_P_Savage, JPSavage, Jackpine Savage or other variants thereof.

I picked this name when I registered on the pnf forums and wanted something star-control related. I liked the earthling cruiser captain name "Halleck" so I used that.
A year or so after I read Dune and was introduced to my namesake proper, the excellent Gurney Halleck. So this is really an embarrassing example of my occasional idiot savant nature.

Particle Man in a song by They Might Be Giants. 42 is of course, the answer to the question of life, the universe, and everything.

Aren't all of the Earthing ship captains references to other science fiction?

well a few know that my first name was "jhguitarfreak"
thats an easy one, i love guitar and the "jh" stands for either Jimi Hendrix or James Hetfield
both of which i base my playing style off of, but more recently fell out of favor with metallica and am looking for a new influence that sounds as good or better. (Warning, I am very shortminded and stubborn when it comes to music)

When I changed it to "Kohr-Ah Death" I wanted something to signify the fact that I love SC2/UQM
The Kohr-Ah have been my favorite race since i started playing SC2 on the 3DO when i was a kid
and also my name was quite simply my personality at the time, and still partially is.
i want to cleanse  Shocked, i'm very evil minded and i enjoy watching others in pain.

My name is usually either knockout or chenjesummrnmhrm.  Knockout, because that's the only basketball game I could beat my friends at.  Chenjesummrnmhrm, because I like star control, chenjesu and mmrnmhrm are my two favorite races, and I like to flaunt the ability to spell mmrnmhrm.

A LAN party. Someone said "Hey let's play Battlefrank 1942". I found this mispronunciation amusing. So it became my nickname. I try not to use it in public because I don't want anyone using google to uncover the evil deeds I have done on the internet. Please don't look into what I've done in the past.

It's the first two letters of a name I use elsewhere.  That name, however, is rather juvenile  Tongue
