Fot or not?

I bought a handhelp controller and it's not working w/ this game. Is this game not compatible with the contoller? Do I hafta get a joystick? I don't like using the keyboard....any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
Gamepads generally work fine; see the relevant FAQ entry for details. If you need more help, please provide the following information:
- The type of controller (brand, model).
- The operating system you are running UQM on (exact product version (e.g. "XP Home SP2" or "OpenSUSE 10.2").
- Whether the controller works in other games (which you've tried and did it work there)
- Your UQM configuration (see the FAQ on where to find them) and debug output files (stderr.txt on Windows in the UQM directory, standard error on Unix).
