While talking with the Slylandro, my game randomly crashes after 10-12 dialogues.
Its never after the first or the second, but only after I've completely asked them about their culture and start in on earth.

That's nothing, I'm using the OpenAL code under Linux -- the game crashes all the time and for no reason on me 
But seriously, what version are you using? Most of these kinds of issues have been fixed in the current CVS version; see here for details
