That would be cool, but there's nothing wrong with the Orz voice as it is. It sounds like they're trying to be nonthreatening, but it comes off as just frikkin' creepy. Which is a good thing, in this case.

They don't sound as transdimensional as you'd expect, though.

I'm not sure how something can "sound" transdimensional....

maybe echo it like you said.

The idea with the Dnyarri is that they're not evil, just some hedonistic, lowly, lazy creatures which happen to have a psychic compulsion ability. Their voice is just brilliant. No wonder Paul Reiche III did it.

The Orz are, first of all, weird. And their voice is just the weirdest it could get. Don't forget that they're fishes. Maybe if they did some "bubbling" effect, but it's not as simple as it seems, you need to synchronize it with the voice. I've tried a "bubbling" flanger, but without such a sync, it sounds annoying.

BTW, related to the Mycon voice - I think Paul spent weeks searching for a good effect set. It's really mysterious how he got that "squishy" feeling, in addition to the low pass echo. Maybe there was a secondary track, resulted from transforming the primary one into a tone track?  Undecided

The voice I was kinda disappointed in was the Slylandro. I expected something....I dunno, differant lol. But at the same time it was interesting that a race that was so differant from humans sounded so much like us.
What a coincidence, just what I felt too. Maybe that was the designers' intention from the beginning.
