An odd savefile question
« on: May 15, 2007, 09:35:26 am »

Is it possible to change the savefile location for UQM?  I currently have it installed on a USB Flash Drive, and its working perfectly... Except for the fact that UQM is on my F Drive and the savefiles are on my C drive. Its not a problem when I play at home, but when I use it elsewhere not having any saves to go back to gets rather tedious.

So lets start with the easiest question, can it be done?

Yes. You can use the "--configdir" parameter to say where the config files are; the save games are stored in a folder in the config folder.
So, you could change your UQM shortcut to something like this:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\The Ur-Quan Masters\uqm.exe" --configdir F:\uqm
Note the location of the quotes.
