How to start with parameters on Mac?
« on: May 13, 2007, 11:41:48 am »

Hi all,

Recently I discovered Ur-Quan and I would like to try it.

I get it the Spanish translation and I put the uqm file on

The Urquan Masters.app/Contents/Resources/Content/addons/UQM-spa/UQM-spa.uqm

But now, I don't know how to use this addon. The problem is thath I'm new to MacOS too, and I don't know how to start an app with parameters.

Somebody can help me? Cheers.

It's easy, but a little strange if you don't know Unix.  Assuming you installed the game in Applications:
  • Open The Terminal (It's in the "Utilities" folder under "Applications")
  • cd /Applications/The\ Ur-Quan\ Masters.app/Contents/MacOS
  • ./The\ Ur-Quan\ Masters -n ../Resources/content --addon UQM-spa
  • Enjoy!

This works for me on OSX 10.4.9/Intel.  If you run into any troubles, reply here.

Oh. I tried something like this, but I got an error about the content (I didn't add the -n parameter). Now works. Thanks a lot.
