a late night thought...
**SPOILER!!**

Seems to me, from the landing crew part where one of the scientists locks himself in the room in the androsynth ruins, like the Orz are part of some lovecraftian Orzthulu.
This has probably been discussed a long time before... but i missed them if they happened.

The Ur-Quan are kinda lovecraftian and there was a reference (I should look it up, but I'm lazy) where Hayes explains that the Ur-Quan bombed certian places including somewhere the Lovecraft mentioned some elder god had been hidden. I'll let someone else put together the details and validate what I said.
