Fascinating comparison. I doubt that those discs can float in the air, and follow an opponent. The discs are still cool nonetheless.
It's a lot of work to balance out every single unit; especially the new ones. I mean, for the Protoss, you can only have mothership; those things are immense in power; they might even be able to single-handedly take on an entire fleet of Dreadnoughts and Marauders confidently.

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

Don't read too much into it. Just because they have a ship that throws shuriken doesn't mean it was inspired from the Kohr-ah.

You know... Come to think of it, the Terran Battlecruiser from Starcraft 1 looks slightly like the Ur Quan Dreadnought when you think about it..
I dunno. What do you think?

You are very right. And the Dreadnought is inspired from the Battlestar Galactica, or so it seems:
And the Zoq is a frog:
Also the Wraith is very similar to an Avatar, especially as the Avatar looks in the 3DO ship spin videos: http://uqm.stack.nl/wiki/Image:Avatar3D.png VS

We did. You did. Yes we can. No.

The example they gave in that review, with the 'blink' ability, actually sounds like stupidly crappy AI. Look, guys, you've got the blink ability and you're in the middle of going down -- why don't you use it?
It seems like it would emphasize clickfest over strategy, despite their claim to the contrary. sigh.

Death 999: Well, what do you expect? I would expect to be able to set unit behavior, so that strategy revolves around setting the proper behaviors, rather than you, the operational commander, having to authorize each individual soldier to use a weapon other than their rifle, each time, and specifiy the target, each time.
Globulation does this, and works fairly well. They take it a little further than I would for StarCraft, though it's all right for their purposes.
