Official Unofficial Soundeffect Addon pack thread.

Right. So, for those interested in finding, downloading, suggesting, and updating the sounds of the Ur Quan Masters' Melee sound effects, feel free to help out! I've already searched all through my computer and used various sound effects to assemble both a template and addon pack that replaces almost all the melee sound effects of each ship. I chose what seemed to either correlate the best with the ship, or simply didn't change it at all, since I thought the sound might hold a certain essence that can't really be replicated... Yeah, but anyway, here's the list of sounds I think I replaced badly, and can very freely be replaced by anybody, and sounds that simply aren't replaced at all.

 Unofficial Sound Effect Replacement Pack

Replaced sounds that need improvement:
Chmmr Secondary
Mmrnhrm Primary for X-form
Both Mycon Sounds
Orz Marine attack and death sounds
Umgah Sounds
Utwig Shield sounds, probably?
Possibly the VUX limpet sounds
Yehat Secondary

Unreplaced Sounds:
Druuge Secondary
Pkunk Insults
Slylandro Secondary
Spathi Secondary
Syreen Secondary
Orz Secondary: 'GO' and 'Intruder!' sounds
Precursor ship sounds, but that's not necesarially used in melee.
ZFP Secondary

Other than poaching songs that seem to fit as a battle theme or a victory ditty, I have no audio expertise whatsoever. Just stopping by to show my support.

A fair few of these sounds are from RPG Maker <_>.

Alrighty what we have here is:

Earthling Missile Firing
Earthling Point Defense
Melnorme Charger
Orz Marine Fight

I think Orz Marine should be kept roughly the same with the argh voices. Shofixti's from Starfox, so maybe we could change that slightly so that we could have a 'Kyieeeeee!' explosion sound. I like the Mrn transformation noise. Wink

Garr. You caught me. Yeah, especially the Arilou uses RM noises. This pack uses a lot of sound effects I found around my computer, using sounds from SSBM, RM2k, Vega Strike, Civ4... ETC, ETC. Hence why it's unofficial.

Elerium, the sound effects in that pack are quite good, though some seem a bit long. Especially the Orz and Melnorme ones are quite long, but it's nothing a quick trim can fix.
