Hello, I have a question, I have Linux Ubuntu 7.04 updated but the graphics of UQM does not lock good as Winxp, I setup the graphics at the best setting, but it does not look like Winxp, what can I do? I have the latest driver for my video card (ATI Radeon 9550 AGP).. Thanks.

Have you tried copying uqm.cfg from the XP UQM settings to the Linux UQM settings?

If that doesn't sort it out, some screenshots would help a lot, as well as copies of both uqm.cfg files. Standard and error output from both versions would also help.

Bug 390 in SDL causes the edges of scaled objects in e.g. UQM SuperMelee to go missing in OpenGL mode on Linux. Switching to SDL framebuffer mode (which requires dropping the resolution to 640x480 or 320x200) works around this. I can confirm that this problem exists in SDL 1.2.11 (the version used in Feisty) and is fixed in SDL 1.2.12.

For the record, my suggestion for openSUSE users is to use the SDL libraries from Factory, the unstable development repository. You can probably do something similar on Ubuntu.

If you can find Ubuntu packages for SDL 1.2.12 (I can't), install them and everything should be fine. If not, you could try either downloading the official SDL source code and installing that instead (which is very likely to be troublesome) or downloading the current Ubuntu source package, applying the patch for the bug and installing the patched SDL 1.2.11 package (easy if you know how, which I don't).

Alternatively, you could try complaining to the Ubuntu SDL package maintainer.

Ok, I did it, the instructions:
You must download the file SDL-1.2.12-1.src.rpm from the link that u gave me http://libsdl.org/download-1.2.php
This is a .rpm file, u have to convert in a .deb

Install alien:
$ sudo apt-get install alien

then u have to convert the file:

$ sudo alien SDL-1.2.12-1.src.rpm   (use the correct adress, example: /home/username/SDL-1.2.12-1.src.rpm like this:
$ sudo alien /home/username/SDL-1.2.12-1.src.rpm)
The file will be stored in the your user name with the name: sdl_1.2.12-2_i386.deb, then double click and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
