It feels like a silly thing to say, but one of my littler pet peeves is when people spell Mmrnmhrm wrong. (Especially on this forum.)
Any thoughts?

I sure don't! Half the time I just say "MM" because I don't want to bother with that mess.

I've always spelled it correctly. Why? Because as a native speaker of a Romance language, it's easy for me to just add "uh" sounds between the consonants in "Mmrnmhrm". That is, "M-uh-rn m-uh-h-uh-rm".

As somebody in this forum said earlier, Mannerheim.
No, it's easy to spell. Like this: M m r n m h m r. And easy to pronounce too.

Canonically, the Chmmr pronunciation is correct. You are supposed not to open your mouth: IRC1998 <Pulse^> <Tsing:#starcontrol-chat> Here's a good question - just how DO you pronounce MMRNMHRM? <Fwiffo> Just pretend you have no mouth and MMRNMHRM is easy to say

Nope, true, but we can fashion a good guess: With two syllables and without opening your mouth, "Mmrnmhrm" sounds more like a... "swooping robot sound", a sort of R2-D2. Thus it's more likely that it was intended to be pronounced like this. Or maybe the correct pronunciation is in a single syllable. Admittedly, it's impossible for a human to pronounce it like that - which gives us a good excuse for having different races pronounce it differently: they have to separate the word into syllables to be able to pronounce it.

I can't recall the need to verbally pronounce it ever arising.

WE ARE THE CHENJESU. WE ARE THE MMRNMHRM.

It's two packets of memory information:
One for "MMRN" One for "MHRM"
And it's "MER-NEM-ERM"
or, preferably,
"mrnmrnmrnmnrmnrmnrmnm"
