Anyone here have an ATI card?
« on: September 10, 2007, 05:53:21 pm »

So this weekend I updated my ATI drivers and Catalyst to the latest version for my X850 card (in Windows). I restart and test a few games out (non-UQM games) and everything is OK.

Later I go and fire up UQM to play some Melee and the UQM window displays nothing except my desktop background inside the window as if a snapshot had been taken. The game is running, as I can hear the menu sounds when I tap the arrow keys. However, nothing displays at all.

However, I was able to switch to fullscreen by adding the fullscreen argument to the shortcut. Fullscreen worked fine. But switching back to windowed mode immediately caused the screen to get all whacked out again.

Anyone know what may be causing this and how to fix it? I really don’t want to roll back my drivers, but I will if I have to…

Anyways, thanks in advance.

Ok.... First thing... what version of DirectX are you running? Have you updated that along with your Vcard drivers?

Latest DirectX available here.

Thanks for the tip, Amiga. I updated to 9.0c (I was at an earlier version of 9.0). Sadly, this did not resolve the issue. I'll try a few more things before I go with older drivers...*sigh*

You may be able to run UQM in non-OpenGL mode (if you were running in OpenGL mode), or in OpenGL mode (if you were not).
