I haven't played the new build myself yet(I want to do so on my new PC that I've had for about a week, but I'm waiting for my 8800 GT 512 MB to replace my Trident 9685 placeholder graphics card and let me play my games again), so I can't verify this. But I don't see why they'd lie about something like this...
source thread
You see Fwiffo or whatever his/her/its name might be over to the left? The plant people also look a bit like the Supox.
(I think it's time to whip up some SC-related CC mods...how about some Orz infantry in water-filled power armor, for starters?)

Yes, you will now have to pay up to unlock all the features of newer builds. Currently at 18 US$, but the price will rise as the game becomes completed(much like Mount&Blade). Thus, it would be best to pay up 18 US$ now rather than 48 US$ later.

Actually I might have to remove/redesign it if it gets too noticed, it was meant as a little easter egg, and that's the usage I got permission for. The game is half-commercial now so legal issues are... more relevant. The BG plant guys are more Elowan based than Supox.
It's not my arrows/writing, and I'm not sure why the image is low on contrast. Maybe it's because it fades ingame.
CC is slowly coming together, but it's still just a sandbox. Since we use detailed simulation rather than abstractions (i.e our characters are 'ragdolls' with their limbs actually colliding against the ground to propel them) we get a lot of... quirky behavior, which is both good and bad. Overall I think it's worth it, but there's a lot of problems with locomotion still (maybe unfixable). We have a great community, and there's tons of fun/crazy mods for the game. Later we might have a campaigns and standalone scenarios, but I'm guessing modding will remain the main attraction.
The most fun part o the game is seeing how much destruction you can cause, so it'll be fun once the rocket gibs and explosions are in. It's a lot easier for me to draw stuff than it is for Daniel (coder) to implement it. Now we have some editors though, so we can finally start adding all the new units and factions comfortably.
The coder quit his job some time ago to work fulltime on CC. I'm working for Disney atm, but I'll turn my attention to CC soon. I really need to do a promotion page explaining the game.

It goes deeper than initially thought.
The brain in a jar holding a joystick is reminiscent of SC1's AI control options to me.
Actually looking it up, I guess it was a computer controlling the joystick, so maybe not.
