So, can we send one of those Hypnotoads to Activision (or Activision Blizzard if they finish that merger) and just have it say "Star Control" over and over again?  That would be cool.

As for that sound, it does indeed sound similar to the Dreadnought fusion blast, but the one in UQM is more "echoey", and it also sounds like the photon torpedo in Star Trek TNG.  Star Control did ring in my head when I heard that sound, so it's cool that you spotted that.

I spy some X-Com Plasma and Laser sound effects, Ur-Quan Dreadnought sound effect with Bender firing, multiple screen in the background reminds me of the god awful SC3 intro.

Also, our great leader Paul Reiche III has said that the dude is a hypnotoad. If you use a lot of imagination, it does indeed look a little bit toadish Smiley

Hypnotoad is supposed to be similar to the Dynarri, but I never noticed any similarity till someone else said it. Still, they are kinda similar concepts.
