Scan for "Biological" on planets. When you find some, kill them, take them with you, and take them to those traders.

I found the homeworld of the SLylandro, but they wont tell me how to destroy the probes!!

You need to have encountered a probe in your current storyline. Loading an earlier savegame and continuing doesn't count.

kk...i am now far ahead...met the birdos, went to zotfotpic, spaffi hid, all that...this is a fun game, even after all these years! Got my friends addicted! Tongue So will they actually make a new game for it?

Well there was an SC3, but not made by the same people as SC2, and therefore generally regarded as vastly inferior

As far as I understand it, the creators of SC2 would love to make a real SC3, but would need a financial backer to take on the project (and I imagine none of the big companies are interested in rehashing a relatively unknown game.
