Slylandro in player vs. player

For you player vs. player melee experts: how useful is the Slylandro ship?  I've always thought it was an extremely difficult ship to use.

My gut tells me that if you wait a little while, an objective guide to PVP-ing the Slylandro will appear in the PVP guide. I am not sure in what order Shiver is writing the guides though. It may be next in the line up, it may be last...

I think hes going alphabetic, so may be a while. But he'll still have an opinion, the other big players too prolly.

It's very useful and definitely worth the 17-point price tag if you know how to fly it.

The ship kicks a boatload of ass. It's the best flanker by far.

Yep.

For beginners like me at least, it seems like a really big hurdle. Because it has both a unique method of movement, and the whole recharging batteries with asteroids aspect, it feels like it would be a huge challenge to master.

Just out of curiosity, has a situation ever come up where one player (playing against Slylandro) tried to destroy asteroids to prevent the opponent from energizing?

Asteroids respawn as soon as they are destroyed. You can't cut a Slylandro off from its battery.

I did that in Single Player Mode... when I still only could try my luck with Cruisers against Slylandro...
Actually I did handle this quite well after a while, but still occasionally lost a Cruiser.

Well, you can't cut them from energy, but you can try to prevent them re-energizing quickly, especially when it's close to you Wink
